Performance Signals Setup: Designed for Precision at Scale
The Performance Signals Setup brings sharper segmentation to product feeds that demand it.
By using real performance signals – not just broad thresholds – it delivers more nuanced labeling, allowing advertisers to manage budgets with the precision their product mix deserves. So you can spot scaling opportunities, cut wasted spend, and optimize beyond the basics.
⚙️ How It Works
The Performance Signals Setup analyzes product performance from the last 30 days using four key metrics:
- Average ROAS – used as the initial performance benchmark
- Total Clicks – ensures there’s enough engagement for meaningful evaluation
- Average Conversion Rate (CR) – adds context on efficiency
- Total Conversions – confirms whether a product’s results are statistically relevant
By default, the system uses your average ROAS as a starting point – it’s the most consistent metric we can rely on across all accounts. However, you’re encouraged to enter your Target ROAS during setup to better reflect your actual performance goals. This custom target becomes the foundation for classifying products based on how they perform relative to your objectives.
The system then applies fixed multipliers to both ROAS and click volume to define the thresholds for each label:
- Products that clearly exceed the target are labeled Good for Scaling
- Those close to the target become Stable Performers
- Underperformers with enough data fall into Needs Attention or Consider Scaling Down
- Low-traffic items without sufficient data are marked as No Reliable Data
This combination of performance and volume ensures your labels are backed by reliable data—and tailored to how your feed actually performs.
🎯 Who It’s For
The Performance Signals Setup is built for advertisers who need more segmentation depth than a standard labeling strategy provides. It’s a great fit if:
- You manage larger or fast-changing product feeds and want better control over performance visibility
- You need granular, signal-based segmentation that can power real decisions – not just reporting
- You want product labels that can directly inform budget allocation, bid strategies, or campaign grouping
- You’re aiming to fine-tune your optimizations beyond broad categories like top, middle, or bottom performers
This setup is ideal for performance-focused marketers, in-house teams, or agencies who want to scale smarter – based on what the data actually says.
Smarter segmentation starts with smarter signals.
The Performance Signals Setup helps you move beyond broad groupings and into precise, data-backed product labeling. It’s built for advertisers who need more control, more clarity, and more confidence in how they spend. Ready to make your product feed work harder? This setup is waiting.
